ISO 45001 resources

ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems will be the world’s first occupational health and safety international standard.

Regardless of size or industry, the standard is intended to help organisations in designing systems to proactively prevent injury and ill health.  All its requirements are designed to be integrated into an organisation’s management processes.

This new international standard is currently at Draft International Standard (DIS) stage.  As a Category A Liaison body, IOSH has played a major part in drafting and developing ISO 45001.  Two more international meetings for IOSH to participate in are planned for 2017.  The earliest publication date for ISO 45001 is the end of October 2017, but it could be early 2018 if a Final Draft International Standard (FDIS) is needed.

Before the publication of ISO 45001, IOSH will be developing and implementing a plan of engagement and promotion activities to fully prepare our members for the effect the new international standard will have on them.

Our Networks will be a vital part of spreading awareness of ISO 45001 to our members, helping us achieve our key strategic objectives of influential leadership in occupational safety and health and member development.  As a Networks volunteer supporting this initiative, you’ll have special access to volunteer-only resources and content on this page in the Volunteer Portal.
