The Hong Kong Branch was established in 1999 and has been serving around 800 members for almost two decades. With continuous support from the Headquarters in the UK, the Branch plays an important role to maintain an effective platform to facilitate our members’ professionalism in OSH.

We have previously organised a number of OSH events such as conferences, seminars and technical visits for our members and believe that these events are able to bring the latest development and the innovative ideas to our members for further enhancement of their technical know-how. According to the survey conducted for the Branch members early this year, it reveals that our members are interested in certain seminar topics, such as the new ISO45001 and the management of OSH. Therefore, we will continuously organise conferences and seminars in alignment with the IOSH strategy as well as Branch members’ expectations in this term of office.

All you may be aware, a flagship OSH event - The Asia Pacific Occupational Safety and Health Organization (APOSHO) 33 Annual Conference will be held from 4th to 5th December 2018 in Hong Kong. IOSH will host the conference and the Branch will provide the optimal support to make the event a success. Of course, the Branch needs the support from our members as we cannot accomplish the goal without your contributions.

I, on behalf of the Branch, would like to congratulate Ir Prof. Vincent Ho on taking up the position of President-Elect of IOSH last November. He will soon be the President of IOSH in coming September. I believe that with Vincent's outstanding leadership skills, the professional status of IOSH will reach another summit.

Lastly, I sincerely thank the members’ support in the past and I seek your support in future to promote the Branch’s OSH leadership in Hong Kong.
